Fort Washington State Park (Primitive Group Camping Only)

A monthly RV park is an RV park, campground, or RV resort that allows guests to stay for one month or longer. Monthly RV parks are commonly used by snowbirds, traveling workers, full-time RVers, retirees, digital nomads, and people relocating to a new area.

Monthly RV park rates can be charged as a flat monthly site fee. Some parks include utilities in the monthly rate, while others charge separately for electricity, water, sewer, trash, cable, Wi-Fi, or other services. Before booking, ask what is included in the monthly rate and what may be billed separately.

Monthly RV rates are usually much cheaper per night than paying the daily or weekly rate for the same length of stay. However, the total cost depends on the location, season, site type, amenities, utility charges, and length of stay.

A monthly RV site usually includes a place to park your RV, in addition to water, sewer, and electric hookups. Some parks may also include Wi-Fi, trash service, cable TV, laundry access, restrooms, showers, clubhouse access, or recreational amenities.

Electricity may or may not be included in monthly RV park rent. Many parks meter electricity separately for monthly and long-term guests. If electricity is metered, you may pay a deposit and then pay for your actual electric usage each month.

Many monthly RV parks require the first month paid in full prior to your arrival. Some campgrounds also charge a deposit before move-in. This may be called a reservation deposit, security deposit, electric deposit, cleaning deposit, or damage deposit. Always ask how much the deposit is, whether it is refundable, and what could cause part of the deposit to be withheld.

You should book a monthly RV site as early as possible, especially in popular winter destinations, tourist areas, construction markets, oilfield regions, and cities with limited affordable housing. Monthly sites can fill quickly because guests often stay for several months at a time.
